AdminHistory | 3.04 acres of land for use as low density office space, adjacent to sixteenth century Alderstone House, was approved for development by the Board of the Livingston Development Corporation in 1988. After a tendering process, development on the site began in 1990. The process was complicated by the fact that the appointed contractor, Lesser Land (Scotland) went into liquidation. A second phase of development began in the early 1990s. Nearby Alderstone House itself was developed as a hotel in the 1980s, though it has recently (2006) been extended and in converted to office space. The Corporation did not manage the tenants of Alderstone Business Park directly, but the Corporation did provide a guarantee to the developers that it would cover the costs for any unlet tenancies. |
