AdminHistory | The Corporation was an outward looking organisation that had a number of measures to engage both with the community and with professional bodies. As far as the Registry system was concerned, "Courses and Conferences" included meetings with tenant tenants' associations and community councils. Tenants' associations were first formed in 1985 with aid from the Corporation and represented the views of tenants/residents to the Corporation on issues such as Estate Management; Repairs Policy; Allocations and Transfer Policy; Capital Expenditure Policy.
Community Councils are the most local form of government in Scotland and have a general remit to represent thier local community. |

8. One file on the Trustees of the Lanthorn, the Lanthorn was a community building financed by the LDC, Lothian Regional Council, West Lothian District Council and the Congregational Church. The complex included a library, community rooms and a chapel. The LDC's legal representative was on the Board of Trustees. 1978-1993 |
