AdminHistory | The Development Corporation, as part of its plans for Livingston town centre, built a multi-use facility called The Forum. Completed in 1986 the building incorporated sports arenas, leisure facilities and a conference centre that could also be used to host music groups and other activities. Similarly, the most asked for facilitiy in a poll of local children was a skating rink, so the Corporation duly obliged by opening Icelandia. However, both closed in the early 1990s.
Livingston football stadium, meanwhile, was built in 1994 to be the new home of Meadowbank Thistle FC, who renamed themselves to become Livingston FC. |
