AdminHistory | In the early years of the Corporation the Scottish Development Department required Annual Estimates before the approval of a project was given. This project by project approval, based on annual estimates, was abandoned in 1972 and instead development corporations were given more delegated authority. Instead, detailed annual totals were approved by the Secretary of State for Scotland, and the Corporation had to review its expenditure monthly to ensure that cumulative expenditure did not exceed the targets set out in the Annual Estimate. |
