AdminHistory | The image working party was an interdepartmental body of the Corporation, incorporating senior staff from Housing and Community Development, the Technical Directorate and the Commercial Directorate.
In 1987 the Image Working Party put out to tender a brief for a marketing firm to work on the image of Livingston, especially as a place to live. This led to a concerted advertising campaign in 1990, and also prompted the re-organisation of the Corporation as a whole, with the creation of a new marketing department that would consistently work on selling the image of Livingston to Scotland. (In 1991 a marketing section was formed in the Commercial Directorate, incorporating what had been the Community Development Department). |
