AdminHistoryIn the 1980s, following social changes that affected when a person might want to move out of the parental home (i.e. young people were no longer waiting for marriage and a family of their own before moving out) the Development Corporation, in conjunction with West Lothian District Council, initiated a number of procedural reviews that were designed to accommodate the rise of young, single people who wanted to live alone and away from home.

ScopeandContentA joint working party was set up to consider the issue of young single people between a number of statutory and voluntary organisations in 1986, and these files mainly consist of the working papers and report of this group, 1986-1988.
