AdminHistory | Prior to the Housing (Homeless Persons) Act 1977, there was no obligation for the Development Corporation to provide housing for homeless persons. After the 1977 act, there were negotiations with West Lothian District Council regarding the provision of housing for the homeless in Livingston and a co-operative strategy between the two organisations was agreed. In the year following the implementation of the act, there were 37 applicants for housing by families who represented themselves as homeless, 19 of which were housed. |
