| AdminHistory | Where the responsibility for the physical maintenance of Corporation property lay changed during the thirty years of the Corporation's existence. Generally speaking, until 1991 there was a Maintenance and Repairs Organisation, from whom the Housing Department would commission minor repairs to Housing Stock. Major refurbishment programmes were undertaken in liaison with the technical departments.
From 1991 and the creation of the Property Services Directorate, the maintenance of all Corporation property was the responsibility of this new department. |

2. Files relating to major refurbishment programmes under taken by the Corporation, mainly concerning the Craigshill and Knightsridge areas of the town, which were poorly planned and constructed in the early years of the town's development, 1966-1994.
3. Files relating to the management of non-building stock, i.e. landscapes, footpaths, gardens and so on, 1982-1994.
4. Files relating to the issues of condensation and dampness in Corporation houses, which were the result of poor building techniques in early Corporation houses, 1968-1991.
5. Files relating to the upgrading of heating and insulation in Corporation houses, which had been inadequate in early Corporation built houses, 1968-1991.
6. A miscellaneous selection of reports and surveys relating to the physical maintenance of Corporation property, 1983-1993.
7. A selection of files relating to contracts managed by the housing department, 1983-1993.
8. Two files concerning fire incidents and prevention in Corporation housing stock, 1987-1993. |
