AdminHistoryThe Community Development Team was a relatively minor aspect of the Corporation's overall strategy from the department's inception in 1966, through until 1982. In late 1982 a new department head, David Kelly was assigned to Housing and Social Relations, and initiated a review of working practices. Steve Trivett, the then current Community Development Officer, argued for a greater involvment between housing and community development sections (LDC/PS/3/1/1/1). This resulted in the Department of Housing and Community Development. In 1988 the Department of Housing and Community Development initiated a review of its aims and objectives, for which which the Community Development senior managers created a file LDC/PS/3/1/1/1.
