AdminHistory | Nether Dechmont Farm was set up in 1977 as community centre that involved local people in its constitution and management committee. Initial funding was provided by the Livingston Development Corporation. The centre provided facilities for a youth club and organised various social events such as community dances, bingo and group outings. At the 1980 AGM it was voted to build a licensed social club within the facility to raise extra funds.
In 1986, following disagreements between Carmondean Community Council and the management committee of Nether Dechmont Farm, the centre was reconstituted as Carmondean Community Centre. As of 2012 it is still a functioning community centre. |
