AdminHistory | West Lothian Youth Theatre formed in 1985 with a £4000 grant from West Lothian District Council and a £4000 grant from the Development Corporation. A part time director was employed and a programme of drama workshops established across West Lothian in schools and Community Centres. Based on the positive response special projects were organised during the school holidays.
Based on this initial response, during 1987-1988 the Board of the Youth Theatre secured funding for a further three years from the District Council and the Corporation. Expansion into deprived areas was funded by a successful bid to the Urban Aid Project. Grants from the Livingston Youth Trust, the District Council and Development Corporation enabled the purchasing and conversion of premises in the Craigshill area of Livingston. |
