| AdminHistory | Client services was created in January 1993, primarily in response to Compulsive Competitive Tendering legislation, which required the Direct Works and Landscape and Forestry sections to bid for competitive contracts both within and without the Corporation. With the Compulsory Competitive Tendering legislation Direct Works and Landscape and Forestry were re-organised into Grounds Maintenance and Building Maintenance sections.
With the progression towards wind-up, Client Services continued to grow, incorporating building surveyors and, then, finally, the very limited remnants of the Housing Department in 1994. There was also a services section for administrative tasks. |
