AdminHistoryThe Corporation made acquisitions of land and property throughout its existence for a variety of reasons - most prominently to develop new areas of town, but, for example, property was also acquired to rationalise the land owned by the Corporation, to provide lodgings for senior staff, to help local voluntary bodies and to build footpaths/other services through areas that had been outwith the designated area and so on.
