TermFootpaths
AdminHistoryIn in the initial planning of Livingston footpaths were to be segregated from roads. This proved impractical however, and by the 1980s the Corporation was adding footpaths to roads where pedestrians were using the road as the quickest route.

The Planning and Architects department usually planned routes, or the need for routes, whilst Engineering either constructed the footpath or oversaw the work of contractors.
