Transport planning
AdminHistoryGiven the need to integrate the new town of Livingston's transport networks into that of the greater area Lothian region, there were a number of studies and statistical analyses required.

In terms of parking, the amount of spaces constructed was limited by the Scottish Development Department. These restrictions were loosened in 1981 and 1986, at which point the Corporation undertook to construct more parking spaces in areas that had previously been limited.

Those wishing to park commercial vehicles in residential areas had to apply for licenses, in some cases the Corporation appealed against the granting of such licenses if they felt it was in an inappropriate area.
