AdminHistory | Initially the Corporation Planned on providing garage space for 100% of the predicted cars in Livingston. When it became clear that car owners were willing to keep their car in the open all year round, and were likewise unwilling to pay rents for garages, this 100% figure rapidly reduced. From 1972 onwards the Corporation undertook the conversions of garages to small workshops for one man businesses, whilst many owner occupiers requested permission to change garages into further living space. |
