AdminHistoryLivingston was primarily planned for use by private motorists, but there were efforts to integrate the town in to pre-existing local transport structures. Most notable of the early efforts in this regard was the construction of a bus station in the town centre in the 1970s, undertaken in conjunction with state-owned Scottish Omnibuses Ltd. The bus station suffered an ill-reputation and was demolished in the early 1990s.
