TitleFeasibility Studies
Date1976-1980s
AdminHistoryIn conjunction with the Commercial Directorate, the Architects' Department produced feasibility studies for buildings in Livingston. Whilst the Commercial Directorate concentrated on financial viability, and attracting industry, the Architects' department produced brochures which contained sepcifications for the buildings.

The feasibility study might include a client's brief, with the size of the building, the proportions of its internal divisions, standards of construction and materials to be used. Feasibility studies also included details about the site, including photographs, maps and plans of location. Basic drawings of the building, including elevations and floor plans were also included. Details on the town of Livingston, selling the town as a location to do business, can be found in some of the brochures.

In the earlier years of the Corporation, there were such feasibility brochures produced for general areas - such as Kirkton Campus. Similalry, there was such a availability of land that a feasibility brochure might cover several sites.
