Doctor-patient relationship
AdminHistoryPatient Participation Groups were formed in the United Kingdom with the intention of involving patients in the way their local health services were run, in involving patients in preventative medicine, and in improving health education. On its most basic level the idea was that interaction between doctors and patients could help both parties. In Livingston local churches initiated action towards creating a patient participation group in Howden Health Centre in 1979. In Livingston there were also plans to attach a chaplaincy to the health centre.
