AdminHistoryPaul Filipek, a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, and Heriot Watt University, worked as a Group Planner for Livingston Development Corporation in the early 1970s, before moving to Falkirk District Council. In 1976 Filipek returned to the Corporation as Assistant Chief Planner, a post he was to occupy until the Corporation wound up (though the job title changed to Head of Planning and Landscape in 1991).

As he occupied a relatively senior position within the Corporation, Filipek contributed to the planning strategy and policies of the Corporation and represented the Corporation on a number of bodies and working groups.
